student success statement 10-31-16

“ RIGHT IS RIGHT, EVEN IF EVERYONE IS AGAINST IT; AND WRONG IS WRONG, EVEN IF EVERYONE IS FOR IT.”

I think this quote means that right is right even  though some people don’t agree with it. For example if people do the right thing it’s right even if some people think that there some goody two shoes. Also if people do wrong it’s wrong even of some people support it and do it. For example if people smoke other people do thinking it’s the right thing to do but it is the wrong thing.

HOMECOMING

               HOMECOMING

Homecoming is an annual tradition in the United States. People, towns, high schools, and colleges come together, usually in late September or early October, to welcome back alumni and former residents.A pep rally usually occurs on the day of the big homecoming game. A dance follows the homecoming game, and a homecoming queen and sometimes king are crowned either during this time or at halftime of the game. All of these encourage students and alumni to have school spirit and pride. Some of the events related to Homecoming are rallies, parades, speeches and dances; the events intended to unite alumni and students to create a stronger sense of school pride; and they were wildly successful.Homecoming, which takes place every fall, is a very important high school event. Although traditions may vary by school, it is typically defined by a football game followed by a semi-formal dance. There may even be a parade or a school spirit week in conjunction with the occasion. Some schools may also use it as a time to welcome back alumni for a special dinner or reunion. During high school homecoming, there are special rules of etiquette students should follow.Homecoming as we know it had its birthplace in Missouri at the University of Missouri. The university has a longstanding rivalry with Kansas University that began in the pre-Civil War era during the "border wars." In 1911, then-Missouri President of Athletics Chester L. Brewer decided lighten up the rivalry with a parade and festivities in which alumni were invited to "come home" to Mizzou. The tradition, now followed by most schools and states, was born.

REFLECTION

“If  your so- called friends urge you to do anything you know to be wrong, you be the one to make a stand for right, even if you stand alone. Have the moral courage to be a light for others to follow.”
                                            By Thomas S. Monson

This quote means that if your friend asks you to do something that you know is wrong you should stand up to them, and tell them NO! For example if your friend was smoking. You tell them to stop smoking. Another example is if your friend is smoking in front of you, and they ask you to smoke with them you stand up to them and tell them NO! One last example is that if you are with your friends and they say let’s go bother that kid over there because he is alone you should say NO because the kid did not do anything and tell them choose the right don’t choose the wrong.

A CTR CHAMPION

“A CTR CHAMPION IS A PERSON WHO MAKES A GREAT HUMAN OUT OF HIMSELF ” BY NOEMI TRIGUEROS

I this quote means that you think you are a
champion just because you win something. Well guess what you are not a champion if you do good in a game but deep you are a bad person. You are a champion if you do good in a game and you are a good person inside and outside. A  person who is a champion  is someone who always choose the right. If you choose the wrong then you are not a champion you are a choose the wrong person. For example when i was smaller i had a baseball game and our team won that game but i wasn't a champion because i was giving attitude to the coach and, i didn't want to go out to play.Because i was scared we might lose but, I went out anyways mad and all that but we ended up winning the game but i wasn't a champion for choosing the wrong.

“GOAL SETTING IS GOAL GETTING. SET AND GET”

I think this quote means that if you put your mind on something you will accomplish it. For example one

COLUMBUS DAY

                COLUMBUS DAY

Columbus Day used to be a celebration of the enterprising courage of Christopher Columbus and other explorers who set out into the unknown and began the long process of establishing civilization in a new part of the world. Christopher Columbus was born between 31 October 1450 and 30 October 1451 in Genoa. Christopher died on May 20 1506 in Valladolid. He was an Italian explorer, navigator, colonizer, and citizen of the Republic of Genoa. Under the auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain, he completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean. Those voyages and his efforts to establish permanent settlements on the island of Hispaniola initiated the European colonization of the New World. Columbus was not the first European explorer to reach the Americas, having been preceded by the Viking expedition led by Leif Erikson in the 11th century.
